Thoughts are something that no one can control
Because they always drift towards whom they like, when they like

Sometimes

Sometimes...

Sometimes your words just hits so hard,
Sometimes its pierces through my soul,
Sometimes I wonder why you do it?
Guess it gives u ecstacy.

Sometimes you shower me with love,
Sometimes you give me more than what I deserve,
Sometimes you respect my dreams,
Guess its all about you indulging in your fantasy.

Sometimes you just ignore me,
Sometimes you rekindle our last strife,
Sometimes you trod on my feelings,
Guess its all about you having a bad day.

Sometimes I sit down and wonder, why me?
Sometimes I cry out loud when you dont understand,
Sometimes I wish all this was just a dream,
Guess I must be glad it's just sometimes and not everytime!

Is the grass greener on the other side?!!!

I wrote this poem for my school magazine's alumni section a few days back! Thought I 'll share it with all of you!

Is the grass greener on the other side?

When I just started school,
The girls in the senior section-
Had all my attention,
I decided, one day I'll be cool like them!

When I reached the senior class,
I had to face the board exams,
Tests, Assignments and formulas ruled my life;
Life was not as cool as expected.

Then I saw a college girl-

I decided, one day I'll go to college;
Then I can roam around and make new friends,
Be carefree and independent!

When I became a college goer;
I had regular assignments to write,
I had to study harder to get a good job,
Life at this stage was not so pleasant.

Then I saw a career woman;
I decided, whatever it is, I'll need a job;
It must be exciting to wear sarees and dress up,
And have money to buy anything that I wanted!

When I started working;
I had deadlines and expectations to meet,
Meetings and conferences reigned supreme in my life,
I had less time for my family and myself.

Yesterday, My son declared,
"Mom,When I grow up I want to be like dad,
So I can drive a car and go off for work-
And have all the fun."

I smiled at his innocence and told him,

"From your perspective life may look easier for us,
But believe me,its not always so,
Enjoy your present,worry less about your future!"

He smiled back and went off to school,
Watching him go, I thought,
I wish I could be like him-
Innocent,young,energetic and carefree...

Young moms

I was browsing the net and I came across this piece of news...I don't know what to call it...but you decide on your own

Well...I guess this is going to be the next in thing...(sarcastically speaking)

17 girls at Gloucester High School are expecting babies. None of them older than 16, confessed to making a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together. The story got worse. "We found out one of the fathers is a 24-year-old homeless guy," the principal says,shaking his head. School officials started looking into the matter after an unusual number of girls began filing into the school clinic to find out if they were pregnant. Several students had returned multiple times to get pregnancy tests, and on hearing the results, some girls seemed more upset when they weren't pregnant than when they were. Amanda Ireland, who graduated from Gloucester High, thinks she knows why these girls wanted to get pregnant. Ireland, 18, gave birth her freshman year and says some of her now pregnant schoolmates regularly approached her in the hall, remarking how lucky she was to have a baby. "They're so excited to finally have someone to love them unconditionally," Ireland says.

Further details of the news can be read here.

I just dont know what to say...these young girls have a very wrong notion about kids...kids always require constant attention...feeding them at regular three hour intervals...caring for them,changing diapers...they would exhaust all your energies.After you decide to just sleep after a tough day, the kids choose that particular time to cry and be fed or even for attention.

These girls are so young, I remember when I was 17 I had huge dreams of making it big and kids were a distant dream.I was having fun in school.I wanted to join college...I never even thought about having my own babies at that point of time. I loved babies...others babies...I liked to baby sit them...

I just don't understand the part where they said that kids will love them unconditionally...Kids will always be kids you cant expect that from anyone...if they loved their parents unconditionally all this would have never have happened...it just highlights the fact these girls are from homes where they are not given enough love. Or they think they are not loved. Or never have been ever loved.

To think the young innocence of the girls is going to be toughened by a drastic change of this sort is very sad.

A memory

Well... I decided that I am going to jot down a memory from my life every monday!

Mondays are for memories of the week end that has passed!(:P)

Its just that I just didnt want to forget those beautiful memories I have! Later in life reminiscing these will keep me happy too!

So my memory for this monday is:

I remember the white chiffon frock that I had when I was 5...It had a beautiful red satin ribbon which ran around the waist and whoose ends could be used to lie a bow at the back.

I specifically loved white long gowns after I saw Princess Diana's wedding! I so badly wanted to be dressed in a gown as beautiful as that for my wedding!

So I had numerous gowns when I was small! A memory of another gown next monday!

Friday Fill In#17

Very late again..but I have cited the reasons here.
:P

1. A smile is free, and it requires less energy to conjure one.

2. Monopoly is my favorite board or card game.

3. I would love to have more laughter in my life and less stress.

4. When I think of the Summer Solstice, I think of how they taught me about it in school.

5. I just remembered I need to put my clothes for washing.

6. One of my favorite song lyrics goes like this:
I still hear your voice when you sleep next to me
I still feel your touch in my dreams
Forgive me my weakness but I don´t know why
Without you it´s hard to survive...(Cascada, Everytime you touch)

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to chill out, tomorrow my plans include searching for a shoe rack and chest of drawers and Sunday, I want to iron my son's school uniforms!

Happy Birthday to Janet!
